The Sisterhood of the Soil is a forum originating in East Nashville, TN which encompasses a great diversity of passions and opinions. We consist of both long term and new gardeners who practice various forms of gardening or farming, including: organic gardening, permaculture, and biodynamics.

Within that, our purpose is to support each other, so that together we can change the world one garden at a time.

Our logo is made up of three circles that include Chamomile, Yarrow, and Nettles. These three plants symbolize various important aspects of the soil:

  • Yarrow (sulphur / potassium) – carrier of spirit
  • Chamomile (calcium / nitrogen) – lifegiving & regenerative
  • Nettles (nitrogen / iron) – gives soil “intelligence”

These circles separately show our diverse interests, and the overlapping aspects symbolizing the things we have in common. The center overlap being the essential core things that we all share, which is our passion for loving and tending the soil.
